Brief 5: EOYS Brand Proposal - Brief

The end of year show branding was is a brief i've been looking forward too all year. Peter and Paul came in to brief us, a studio whose work I admire and would relish the opportunity to work with developing the final resolutions for the 2017 shows. Within the briefing it was made clear the emphasis of the shows should be upon the quality of work we produce in the institution and is more successful if it reflects the collages ethos within this campaign. For the initial stages of this brief we were required to pitch our idea including our chosen concept and how this would be applied over a range of collateral, at this stage to include a poster, flyer and e-invite direction to give Peter and Paul a holistic understanding how how we plan to execute the concept. My into thoughts on the brief are that is presents an exciting opportunity to work with a live client and provides even bigger opportunities for exposure with the winning concept being produced on mass for all of the colleges marketing collateral.

My research plan is to initially research previous end of year shows within the college and external institutions to identify how these have been successfully marketed and which campaign directions fully engage their audience. I also plan to research a range of external inspirations including events that engage me and branding inspirations that will aid my initial ideas. The audience is extremely open targeting the creative community however not feeling exclusive and being welcoming of the general public who may have a limited arts knowledge. The tone of voice is celebratory and should connote quality, pride, and talent. Finally the timescale for this initial stage of the brief is 2 weeks which is a relatively short turn around for a fully resolved concept however working in a small group should improve the productivity of the overall project.
