Creating a range of initial ideas allowed me to consider the context of the poster series and how these would interrelate as there needed to be elements of continuity across the series. Route one explores a process driven narrative writing out the stages of each process as a text heavy poster. Although this feels visually engaging and contextually appropriate this creates issues within the series continuity as some processes have 10 stages whereas some only have two, therefore this is difficult to create a standardised template from.
Route 2 focuses on the and colour, each poster background will be switched from the photography and use of glaze used within each process. the format will differ within each poster however the use of colour and a single typeface will allow the series to feel connected. This direction plans to design for each individual posters requirement as each process is totally different and will use the design aesthetic to connote my interpretation of the reach each process i.e. text heavy for the longer processes, more sporadic for the messier processes etc.
Route 3 focuses on a simplified framework creating a quick-fire list of the essential stages within each process, while this works aesthetic and contextually providing an audience and context for the poster however isn't ethical as it is a subjective account therefore should not be used as a definite guide to follow.
Consulting peer feedback established that a mix of all 3 routes should be developed into the final design direction, it is suggested by students that due to each process being totally different each posters should reflect a different aesthetic style, which is appropriate to its process, the agree'd that their should be elements of consistency and reinforced the suggestion of the use of a simple typeface would aid this synergy, it is further suggested the use of a similar composition for example only including 2 colour and a simple image would aid the overall continuity of the series. This feedback really helped to consolidate the idea in my head and allows to to move forward into the process of development confident in my approach to the brief.
