Brief 2: YCN / GREENALLS - Printed Collateral: Measurement Testing

Identifying a strong concept for the campaign collateral I set to work developing these physical outputs. The first stage of this was to create a printable template for the umbrella, luckily I was able to find sample online which I was able to easily re-create in illustration to ensure the precision and accuracy of the test piece. The next stage of the process was really trial and error, testing a range of different sizes and finding the most appropriate scale for the umbrellas. This was more difficult for the bottle collars as this had it fit the form of the bottle and sit comfortable around the neck.

Through this process of testing I found that the 100mm diameter umberella felt the most approbate size for the drinks umbrella and sat comfortably within a Gin goblet, its primary use environment ensuring the scale is appropriate to function.

For the Bottle collar it was identified that the 160mm umbrella sat comfortably within the bottle dimensions, further testing found that a 40mm circle in the top of the umbrella allows the collar to hug the bottle neck for a bespoke custom solution that accentuates the form of the Greenall's bottle.

The process of physical testing is incremental to the final output as only by trial and error have I been able to identify the most appropriate measurements for the bottle collar and umbrella to ensure a scale that fits the form of its application.
